TYLA Membership Services Outreach Is Reaching Out to Our Members

The Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) is dedicated to serving and assisting the young lawyers within the State of Texas. This year, as part of its effort to let YOU, the TYLA member, know more about what TYLA can do for you, the Member Services Committee created and distributed the first ever TYLA membership cards! The front of the cards include your name and bar card number and the back of the card alerts you to benefits of being a member.

Approximately 20,000 young lawyer members received the card, and the newest licensees will be receiving the card soon. Along with the membership cards, TYLA members received a free TYLA keyboard calendar.

TYLA is continuing to work to obtain, from any type of service provider (not exclusively legal), benefits for its young lawyer members, but has already obtained some great Texas Bar CLE discounts that you should take advantage of, if you haven't already!!

Additionally, last year's Member Services Outreach committee sent all lawyers licensed two years or less a copy of our newly-created Survival Guide. The guide reached approximately 7,200 Texas young lawyers and in the future will be sent to all law students who join the State Bar's Law Student Division.

The TYLA Survival Guide provides relevant statistics about law practice in Texas, as well as helpful tips for practicing law--how to's, helpful websites, etc. The Guide addresses target areas that young lawyers most frequently comment about, such as financial debt and how to manage those areas.
